About the Role
The Market Owner acts as a General Manager for a specific customer segment, deeply understanding customer experience and advocating internally across Jane's functions. Each Market Owner is the internal champion for their segment: tracking core metrics, building deep customer empathy, and driving a coordinated strategy across Customer, Marketing, and Product teams.
Manual Therapy (including physical therapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, and related disciplines) and Mental Health represent two of Jane's largest and most critical segments. We're looking for someone who knows either or both of these sectors deeply, cares about practitioners, and is ready to own strategy and execution for the Canadian market.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Canadian Manual Therapy and Mental Health markets end-to-end: Set annual goals around key market metrics, track performance, and adjust strategy to drive measurable business outcomes.
- Build deep market and customer understanding: Maintain a research-backed perspective on practitioner workflows, competitive dynamics, and emerging growth opportunities.
- Shape and execute go-to-market strategy: Partner with Marketing to define positioning and work with Customer teams to translate strategy into frontline execution.
- Be the voice of the market internally: Represent Canadian practitioners across Product, Marketing, and Customer teams to influence the roadmap and product-market fit.
- Balance strategy across three horizons: Align with Customer teams on immediate needs, guide Marketing programs across a 3-to-6 month horizon, and inform long-term Product priorities.
- Surface emerging opportunities: Identify strategic partnerships, unmet customer needs, and expansion vectors.
- Represent Jane in the market: Attend key industry conferences, events, and community touchpoints across Canada.
Qualifications
- 4-6+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years in top-tier strategy consulting alongside 2+ years in market strategy, general management, or product marketing (preferably in B2B SaaS).
- Comfort with managing to metrics: Proven ability to set numerical goals, diagnose trends, and adjust strategy based on data.
- Proven go-to-market execution: Demonstrated success working cross-functionally to bring plans to fruition with measurable results.
- Stakeholder management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex market dynamics into actionable narratives.
- Cross-functional leadership: Ability to influence across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Support teams without direct authority.
- Comfort with ambiguity: Proactive mindset with a bias toward action when playbooks are not yet defined.
