Payward (the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services, and CF Benchmarks) has spent the last 15 years building globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms to advance an open, global financial system.
The Team
Payward Services is an enterprise infrastructure platform that enables companies to seamlessly integrate trading, payments, funding, and digital asset services through a single unified system. It provides coordinated liquidity, custody, compliance, risk management, and settlement capabilities for fintechs, banks, brokerages, and payment providers.
Payward's Payments & Blockchain team owns the first and last mile of every dollar moving in or out of its productsโpowering deposits and withdrawals for millions of users through banking partners, PSPs, and local rails.
The team is looking for a Product Manager to shape the future of Payward's in-house PSP: a scalable, multi-tenant payments backend with hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, and direct APIs.
The Opportunity
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the Payward payments platform, covering the shared backend and integration surfaces (hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, direct APIs).
- Map requirements across internal clients to evolve platform capabilities for a growing range of use cases.
- Partner with engineering to turn the target vision into a sequenced, high-impact roadmap with client milestones.
- Prioritize competing client needs, make trade-offs visible, and communicate decisions clearly.
- Shape the end-to-end client experience from architecture discussion to go-live.
- Work with banking and partnerships teams so each new PSP or bank integration is built once on the platform and reaches every Payward business.
- Integrate compliance, risk, and legal requirements across global jurisdictions into the roadmap early.
- Set and track platform success metrics, including launch times, rail availability, and payment success rates.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in a platform, API, or infrastructure role serving developers or internal teams.
- Working knowledge of payments: pay-ins and payouts, PSPs and acquirers, bank rails (ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, local methods), and money flows.
- Strong technical fluency to read RFCs, challenge architecture decisions, and write developer-friendly API specs.
- Proven experience shipping developer-facing products like APIs, SDKs, or embeddable UI components.
- Clear, structured documentation skills to translate complex system designs into actionable material.
- Skilled in managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment without direct authority.
- Comfort working with data to measure platform performance and adoption.
Nice to Haves
- Experience at a PSP, payment orchestrator, or payments infrastructure company (or building one in-house).
- Background with multi-tenant SaaS or B2B2C platforms.
- Familiarity with crypto, stablecoins, or on/off-ramps.
- Experience working across multiple regulated legal entities or licensing regimes.
