About the Role

As an Engineering Manager for Object Storage, you will build and lead a group of talented engineers creating an object storage product on the Render platform. This role blends strong technical leadership with product thinking: you’ll partner closely with product managers and designers to translate user needs into a high-quality, scalable system.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead a team of object storage engineers, supporting their development through mentorship and clear technical guidance.
• Drive execution on key product initiatives from ideation through launch.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Infra teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Engage deeply in system design, guiding architectural tradeoffs.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Break down complex problems into incremental milestones.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products with downstream business impact; experience with stateful services is highly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience managing people, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
• Strong technical background in system design and architecture.
• Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals into engineering roadmaps.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience building products for developer platforms or cloud infrastructure.
• Background working on highly scalable distributed systems.
• Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling and process.
