Product Manager - Branching

We are hiring a Branching PM to own the entire developer path from local development to production. You will manage the CLI, migrations, seed data, configuration-as-code, ephemeral branching, GitHub integration, and deployment promotion.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Customer Discovery: Engage with indie developers, startups, and enterprise teams to identify needs behind feature requests and define the roadmap.
• Workflow Integration: Ensure the CLI, migrations, and Git integrations function as a cohesive, intuitive developer experience.
• Outcome Ownership: Define success metrics for launches, measure performance post-ship, and iterate based on data.
• Commercial Strategy: Define the 'commercial shape' of features, balancing compute costs, provisioning latency, and free vs. paid tiers.
• Prioritization: Make tough decisions on what to build, defer, or cut, while defending the roadmap and managing SLOs.
• Cross-functional Alignment: Keep engineering, design, and leadership aligned on dependencies and roadmap execution.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

• Experience: Have 7+ years of PM experience in developer tools or are an ex-founder with strong technical instincts.
• Domain Expertise: Have shipped developer-workflow products (CI/CD, ephemeral environments, migrations, or CLI tools). Familiarity with Postgres is a bonus.
• Action-Oriented: You break big bets into shippable pieces and treat releases as tests of your assumptions.
• Hands-on: You use the tools you build, including running your own migrations and managing branches.
• AI-Forward: You leverage AI tools to increase velocity and focus on high-level judgment.
• Async Communication: You excel at working in a distributed environment, making decisions in writing, and moving threads forward without meetings.
