About the Role
Unbounce is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A (AI First) to join our FP&A team. You'll run our budgeting and forecasting cycles, prepare monthly reporting, support the accounting team through month-end close, and partner with teams across the business to answer financial questions.
This is an AI-native role: the outputs are familiar (an annual budget, a rolling forecast, a monthly reporting package, board metrics), but you will spend a meaningful share of your time building the systems that produce them rather than producing them by hand. Every employee at Unbounce has Claude, and our billing and accounting stack was rebuilt this year on Recurly and Rillet, so the data layer underneath you is new rather than inherited.
Concretely, when a recurring analysis takes four hours by hand, we expect your instinct to be to build the thing that does it in four minutes next month, and then to be the person who can tell whether its answer is right. The second half matters more than the first. Automation without judgment is worse than no automation, and this role owns both.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build and operate AI-driven finance workflows
- Design, build and maintain the AI agents and automated workflows that carry the recurring FP&A load: variance analysis, first-pass commentary, cohort and retention analysis, board metric refreshes, and routine data pulls.
- Use AI as a default part of your workflow across analysis, modeling, reporting, and commentary.
- Use Claude to speed up analysis, automate recurring reporting, draft first-pass variance commentary, and pressure-test your own assumptions.
- Build the context these agents need to be reliable: metric definitions, documented data lineage, and explicit construction rules.
- Decide what should and should not be automated, drawing the line between unsupervised agents, human-reviewed drafts, and manual tasks.
- Own the finance team's shared library of agents, prompts, skills, and calculation templates.
- Review AI-assisted work to ensure high standards and build validation checks against sources.
- Raise the ceiling for those around you by enabling business partners to answer their own questions.
Planning and forecasting
- Own the annual budget and quarterly/monthly forecast updates.
- Maintain the company's financial model (revenue, expenses, headcount, and cash) with easily configurable assumptions.
- Run scenario analysis to help leadership weigh decisions using fast, AI-built iterations.
Reporting
- Own the monthly reporting package including actuals versus budget/forecast and variance analysis.
- Help prepare materials for leadership and board meetings.
- Work with the accounting team during month-end close to ensure accuracy.
Metrics and analysis
- Own core SaaS metrics (ARR/MRR, net/gross retention, churn, CAC, LTV) with consistent definitions.
- Analyze customer, product, and segment profitability.
- Build and maintain BI reports as a single source of truth.
Working with the business
- Serve as the finance point of contact for Sales, Marketing, Product, and G&A.
- Partner with Data and Analytics to scope reporting needs.
- Evaluate costs and benefits of proposed projects and investments.
A Little Bit About You
- A reliable instinct for when a machine-generated answer is wrong.
- Structured thinking to break vague business questions into verifiable steps.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in real finance work.
- Experience building AI-assisted workflows (prompt-based reporting, scripting, or connecting AI tools to data sources).
- 3–5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar analytical finance role.
- Experience at a SaaS or subscription business, or willingness to get up to speed.
- Solid financial modeling and spreadsheet skills.
- Working knowledge of the three financial statements and subscription revenue recognition.
- Ability to explain financial results clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Comfort with ERP, planning, and BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Cube, QuickSight).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
