About Vercel
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We empower people and agents to ship what’s next. As the creators of Next.js, v0, and the AI SDK, we provide the platform that helps builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Vercel Agent team. Our mission is to make deploying on Vercel feel like adding a seasoned infrastructure engineer to your team. The Vercel Agent investigates incidents, fixes failing builds, reviews code, and answers questions with deep production context.
We are unifying our existing AI-driven products into a single, pervasive agent capable of multi-step reasoning, sandboxed code execution, and taking real actions on behalf of our users.
What You Will Do
- Design and build agentic systems that autonomously investigate, diagnose, and remediate production issues.
- Architect multi-step agent workflows with durable state that survives crashes and timeouts.
- Build tool integrations that provide the agent with deep knowledge of the Vercel platform (deployments, functions, logs, metrics, DNS).
- Ship polished, user-facing experiences across the Vercel dashboard, CLI, and Slack.
- Develop infrastructure for dynamic skill injection, allowing the agent to acquire new capabilities at runtime.
- Collaborate on prompt engineering, model evaluation, and RAG pipelines.
About You
- 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience with strong TypeScript proficiency.
- A track record of adaptability and learning new technologies.
- Strong product and UI sensibility; ability to build great user experiences independently.
- Full-stack capability with a deep understanding of infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability.
- Experience building frameworks, platforms, or reusable abstractions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence architecture on a high-impact team.
Bonus Points
- Experience building agentic systems, AI tooling, or production-grade automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), prompt engineering, or RAG.
- Experience with Vercel, Next.js, or modern web deployment ecosystems.
- Knowledge of sandboxed execution environments or container orchestration.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package, including equity.
- Inclusive healthcare package.
- Mentorship and professional development support.
- Flexible time off.
- Necessary hardware and a WFH budget to outfit your workspace.
