About the Role

CI/CD is the beating heart of Vercel. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the CI/CD team, you will own the systems that power millions of builds daily. You will design, operate, and evolve the infrastructure that ensures our platform remains fast, resilient, and secure. This role blends product thinking with deep systems ownership, requiring you to partner across teams to define the future of developer workflows.

What You Will Do

• Own and evolve the infrastructure for Vercel’s build and deployment lifecycle.
• Design and operate high-performance microservices that process millions of builds daily.
• Lead projects end-to-end, from technical direction to production implementation.
• Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure with company-wide goals.
• Set long-term standards for scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.
• Contribute to the open-source community and represent Vercel’s commitment to developer tools.
• Write clean, efficient, tested, and well-documented code.

About You

• 6+ years of experience designing and operating backend applications and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership in production environments.
• Skilled at cross-team collaboration and influencing technical priorities.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering strong engineering practices.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with React or Next.js.
• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Background in developing CI/CD platforms or internal developer platforms.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Experience optimizing build systems for monorepos or polyrepo setups.
• Experience with build caching, artifact storage, or dependency management at scale.
