Senior Product Designer, Knowledge Graph - Grafana Labs

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, the fully managed observability platform trusted by more than 10,000 organizations to ensure reliability, resolve incidents faster, and optimize telemetry at scale. Built on open source and open standards and designed for interoperability across any stack, Grafana Cloud brings AI to observability and observability to AI.

We are a 100% remote company with team members across 40+ countries, backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Designer at Grafana Labs, you will join a growing Product Design organization of more than 25 designers, researchers, engineers, and design leaders distributed across six continents. You will work within a 100% remote R&D organization, so strong, proactive remote communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship building skills will be essential to your success.

As Senior Product Designer for Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph, you'll design experiences for the context layer of Grafana Cloud that powers our entity graph, entity catalog, and RCA workbench. Knowledge Graph automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from existing telemetry, maps dependencies, and runs anomaly detection to give engineers and SREs an up-to-date picture of their systems.

Over time, you will develop deep expertise in your product area and associated user personas, use cases, and workflows to design tailored, role-driven experiences. You will also contribute to the evolution of the Product Design team by coaching and mentoring other designers, collaborating on internal initiatives, and helping evolve new ways of working.

  • Translate research and data into experiences that are easy to digest and break down complexity.
  • Tailor the experience to different target audiences, covering multiple user perspectives.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders in engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM functions.
  • Prioritize for delivering impact while balancing business priorities, customer wishes, and technical considerations.
  • Document user needs and pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed designs for specific features and enhancements.
  • Execute research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with researchers, cross-functional collaborators, customers, and members of the Grafana user community.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B/enterprise software products, ideally designing tools and services for developers or other highly technical users.
  • A portfolio of effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience running qualitative research in complex fields, building empathy with users, their needs, and pain points.
  • Ability to make design decisions that appropriately balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across multiple locations and time zones to iteratively ship and evolve products.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn about a complex, technical product space.
  • Experience working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment where you default to transparency and embrace autonomy.

Bonus Points For
