[Contract] Language Training Specialist - Japanese

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Localization Project Manager — Japan Training Quality to support localization for Customer Education. You will ensure Notion training content is accurate, clear, culturally relevant, and ready for learners in the Japanese market.

This role sits at the intersection of localization quality, training implementation, and program management. You will collaborate with Localization, Partner Enablement, Customer Education, vendors, and language specialists.

What You'll Achieve

• Quality Assurance: Apply Japanese localization QA standards across training content, checking for accuracy, clarity, tone, terminology, and cultural nuance.
• Asset Management: Support the development of glossaries, style guides, QA checklists, and review processes.
• Technical QA: Support QA of technical implementation in eLearning authoring tools and LMS environments (course files, quizzes, answer selections).
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to align on priorities, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Process Improvement: Identify workflow risks and document repeatable processes to improve translation quality and reduce time-to-launch.

Skills You'll Need

• Strong understanding of localization workflows (vendor collaboration, review cycles, glossaries, style guides, and linguistic QA).
• Experience with Japanese localization QA, ideally for SaaS, technical training, or customer education.
• Ability to review content for quality, terminology accuracy, and learner comprehension.
• Familiarity with eLearning or LMS tools (e.g., Skilljar, Parta).
• Strong project management skills and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous areas.

Role Details

• Duration: 6-month contract with the option to extend.
• Commitment: 20 hours/week.
• Location: Preferred in Tokyo, but open to remote applicants with strong Japanese market expertise and timezone overlap with Japan and Notion's International Experience team.
