The Role

We are looking for a strong writer who understands technical concepts and loves explaining them to others. This is not a documentation or generic SEO role; we need someone to create high-quality technical blog posts, use-case guides, and engineering explainers that resonate with developers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Writing technical content: Create tutorials, engineering deep-dives, and technical explainers that help users get more value from PostHog.
• Researching complex topics: Dig into engineering processes, data infrastructure, and AI agents to explain how they work.
• Strategy & Ownership: Decide what to write based on company priorities and product launches. You will own the narrative and the execution.
• Collaboration: Work with engineers and marketers to translate technical builds into compelling stories.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Writing product documentation (handled by our dedicated team).
• Churning out generic SEO content or AI-generated slop.
• Writing social media ads or marketing copy as your primary focus.
• Waiting for assignments; you will be expected to identify and pitch your own topics.

You’ll Fit Right In If:

• You are a strong writer: You can take complex technical topics and make them clear, useful, and enjoyable.
• You have a technical portfolio: You have previously written technical explainers, tutorials, or engineering posts for a developer audience.
• You are technically curious: You don't need to be an engineer, but you are comfortable with concepts like APIs, data warehouses, logs, traces, and LLMs.
• You have good taste: You prioritize quality and genuine utility over keyword stuffing.
• You are AI-pilled: You use AI tools to improve your workflow and content quality.
• You work independently: You are comfortable in an autonomous environment with minimal oversight.
