About the Role

This role owns external product storytelling across Vercel, including the Agent Stack, Core Platform, and tools like v0, Vercel Agent, and Vercel Plugin. You will translate technical updates into narratives that resonate with developers, press, and the market. You will also oversee communications for Vercel's open-source portfolio, including Next.js, Nitro, Nuxt Labs, shadcn/ui, Svelte, Better Auth, and Turbopack.

This position reports to the Head of Communications and is based in our San Francisco office with required in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

What You Will Do

  • Product Launch Strategy: Own external communications for product announcements across the Agent Stack and Core Platform, driving awareness and thought leadership.
  • OSS Portfolio Oversight: Manage communications for open-source frameworks, maintaining a voice native to developer communities.
  • Narrative & Positioning: Build thought leadership narratives regarding Vercel's position in the infrastructure and framework landscape.
  • Content Development: Partner with Content Engineering to develop owned and social content that engages commercial and developer audiences.
  • Community Engagement: Support the open-source community by amplifying contributors and identifying emerging stories.
  • Community Programming: Collaborate with DX Engineering on conferences, activations, and community programming.
  • Executive Thought Leadership: Elevate the public profiles of Vercel’s product/engineering leadership and open-source maintainers.

About You

  • 6-8 years of experience in communications, PR, or product marketing within developer tools or infrastructure.
  • Strong storyteller capable of translating technical work into resonant narratives without oversimplifying.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers, PMs, and technical leadership.
  • Experience managing multi-channel, cross-functional programs.
  • Familiarity with the frontend/JavaScript ecosystem is a strong plus.
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning programs end-to-end.
